Jabal Thawr (Thawr Mountain)
Jabal Thawr, located south of Makkah, is another mountain of great historical and religious importance. It was in a cave on this mountain that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his close companion, Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), took refuge for three days during their migration (Hijrah) from Makkah to Madinah. The story of the spider’s web and the pigeon’s nest, which concealed their presence from the Quraysh pursuers, is a well-known and revered event in Islamic history.
