House of Abu Ayyub Ansari

This is the approximate location of the house of Abu Ayyub Ansari (May Allah be pleased with him), where the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) initially stayed for several months upon his migration to Madinah while Masjid-e-Nabwi and the adjoining rooms for his wives were being built.
When the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) entered Madinah, he told the people to allow his camel to go its way as it was guided by Allah. The camel eventually knelt at the spot where Masjid-e-Nabwi was later built. The adjacent house belonged to Abu Ayyub Ansari (May Allah be pleased with him), who eagerly invited the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) to stay.
Initially, the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) stayed on the ground floor of Abu Ayyub’s (May Allah be pleased with him) two-story house. However, Abu Ayyub (May Allah be pleased with him) and his wife felt uneasy about staying above the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) and eventually convinced him to move upstairs.
Abu Ayyub Ansari (May Allah be pleased with him) later became a martyr during the siege of Constantinople, and his grave lies in Istanbul.
