Masjid Shaikhain marks the spot where the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) prayed on the eve of the Battle of Uhud on 14th Sha’ban 3 AH (625 CE). Preparations for the battle were made here.
After performing the Jummah (Friday) prayer, the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) set off for Uhud, performing Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr prayers here. He planned the battle, inspected the troops, and selected those to participate.
Several young boys eager to fight were sent back by the Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him), but after proving their abilities, some were permitted to stay.
